The days are shorter and, above all, colder, making it all the more important that we stay fit and healthy. Here are our five most important tips to get through this season well :).
1. Ventilate properly
Regular ventilation is important not only when contact with virus spreaders is unavoidable.
Dry and stale air not only leads to a lack of concentration, but can also cause burning eyes, headaches and a dry throat.
As a rule of thumb, ensure that the air in the office is exchanged every one to two hours
2. Exercise in the fresh air
Many people suffer from a lack of exercise during the winter months. Despite the cold and darkness, you shouldn't miss out on exercise. Exercise in the fresh air strengthens our immune system and is good for the soul. Due to the current situation, all of our group training sessions are held outdoors, which our clients really appreciate. Come and train with us; all sessions can also be attended online :).
3. Stay healthy through the winter with a balanced diet
Colds are significantly less likely to spread in winter if the body regularly receives sufficient vitamins and minerals. Therefore, seasonal vegetables like pumpkin, beets, or cabbage should be regularly on your plate during the cold season. Anything that brings tears to your eyes, like onions or leeks, should also be eaten regularly. Citrus fruits, bell peppers, and rose hips, in particular, provide sufficient vitamin C.
Spices like ginger, turmeric, cardamom, and cinnamon are ideal winter companions because they warm you from the inside. Our Golden Milk, for example, contains all of these spices, making it the perfect source of warmth :).
4. Drink enough
We often don't notice how much water our bodies lose in winter. However, if we don't drink enough, we're prone to headaches and circulatory problems. Especially in winter, unsweetened teas are a delicious and warming alternative to water. Green and black tea are particularly suitable, as the tannins they contain have anti-inflammatory properties.
5. enough sleep
If you don't get enough sleep, your immune system will be under strain. Therefore, go Go to bed earlier every now and then so that your body gets the rest it needs.
