Many who follow me on Facebook or Instagram know that I'm not a fan of extremes. And I dislike products and people who spread ignorance and sometimes even lies out of greed.
Detox has been on everyone's lips for some time now. Whether it's detox teas, detox powders, or detox wall art—almost anything labeled "detox" can be sold these days. But the question is, is there any truth to this? Can the body be detoxified only with detox tea, and if so, why do everyone else survive without it? Does detox powder make cellulite disappear, and have too few women discovered this?
Questions upon questions...
This morning I found a perfectly compiled text from a doctor that I agree with 100%. And because it's so beautifully written, I'd like to include it here for you.

"The detox industry is on fire – especially now, when everyone wants to lose weight, wallets are being milked, while bellies continue to grow in the long run and, in the worst case, even health damage remains. #don'tbefooled

The pH value is the negative decimal logarithm of the H3O+ concentration in a solution. WHAT? Simply put: pH indicates whether a solution is acidic or basic.

Why this is important: The function and survival of an organism depend on a constant pH value. This is primarily due to the pH-sensitive spatial structure of proteins. If the pH is unphysiological for an organ, its function will collapse in the worst case scenario.

The detox industry blames almost all lifestyle problems on chronic over-acidification of the body - cellulite, body fat, cancer, body odor and even immune deficiency.

That's nonsense! Your blood pH is meticulously regulated by various buffer systems and your organs (kidneys, liver, lungs). These, by the way, aren't overloaded by meat and dairy consumption. Otherwise, you could kill yourself with a few steaks – exercise would be off-limits anyway, because lactate builds up there.

If your blood pH is out of balance, you'll quickly end up in the intensive care unit, staring into the distant white light. This is a serious illness. No detox tea will help!

While diet does have a certain influence on pH levels in the body—for example, in urine—this is part of normal physiological fluctuations in a healthy body and is not a sign of disease. Your urine may be more acidic at times and more alkaline at others.

Detox cures are a marketing gimmick for people who are looking for a shortcut or are suffering from serious illnesses like cancer – dangerous stuff!

Save your money & protect your health. A calorie deficit and exercise will help you lose weight – and perhaps reduce body fat to combat cellulite. Supplement this with a vegetable-rich diet, plenty of water, adequate sleep, avoid toxins (smoking and alcohol), and let your organs take care of the rest – they don't need expensive vegetable pills to function perfectly.

Let me put it this way: If you were over-acidified, you wouldn't be reading this post."

This topic couldn't have been phrased better. The following quote comes to mind:
Rats are not people but some people are rats.
So don't believe everything and don't let yourself be taken for a fool just because someone wants to boost their bank account.
With that in mind, happy antidetox tea and here’s to a long life.
