Many mothers who have trained with me have repeatedly told me how boring postnatal exercise classes are. This naturally motivated me to look into the whole thing a bit more. We're starting our first "After Baby Class" on October 14, 2019. However, the class is also open to participants who haven't recently been pregnant. Since the pelvic floor concerns significantly more people and is still a taboo subject, I'd like to write something about it today.
Coughing, sneezing, laughing—everyday life presents many uncontrollable situations. Combined with a weak pelvic floor, this can quickly become uncomfortable. For example, those who suffer from incontinence may inadvertently lose a few drops of urine in such situations. The pelvic floor muscles were long a neglected topic, but we now know how important this muscle group is within our bodies. They contribute to good posture and stabilize our internal organs. If their strength diminishes, it can lead to significant problems, both for women and men.
That's why we've created a course that's fun and delivers quick, noticeable results.
Frequently asked questions:
Do you have to do pelvic floor exercises even if you have a cesarean section?
I strongly recommend it, because the pregnancy and the additional weight that presses on the pelvic floor put a lot of strain on the pelvic floor.
When can I start training again after giving birth?
It's best to discuss this with your doctor, as every birth and every person is different. Generally, however, you can start the postnatal exercise program after 6-8 weeks. After a cesarean section, it's important that the scar is no longer painful.
Can I start training while pregnant?
Of course, 8-12 contractions three times a day are recommended. We can put together exercises for you in a personal training session that you can replicate at home.
Is it enough if I attend the course once a week?
All participants receive exercises to take home, which are carried out there about two more times a week.
What do I do after the postnatal course?
You can easily start with Mamacita training, where you can bring your child with you. You can also attend our other group classes; the training is always tailored to your needs.
